Nour Necib

Nour Necib is an architect and a Master’s student in planning (City, Territory and Landscape option) at the Université de Montréal, where she is a member of the UNESCO Chair in Urban Landscape. Her background has led her to take an interest in urban transformations and in digital tools applied to the city, particularly new forms of citizen participation and the possibilities digital tools offer to better understand, represent, and co-design urban territories. Her research explores the potential of a participatory digital twin at the neighbourhood scale as a space for representing, discussing, and co-designing the territory. She examines how a neighbourhood can move from a territory that is simply represented to one that can be collectively explored, discussed, and co-designed through digital tools, and how such tools can support dialogue between residents, local stakeholders, and planning professionals in the Montreal context.
