Participation in the “Democratizing Access to Water” Charrette by ASFQ and Design Montréal

Last month, Roxane Kasprzyk, a student at the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Environmental Design and a collaborator with the UNESCO Chair, took part in a charrette organized by Architecture Without Borders Quebec (ASFQ) and Design Montréal.

Over the course of three days, students from UQAM, Université de Montréal, and the McGill University School of Architecture, along with people with lived experience of homelessness, planning and design professionals, community organizations, and representatives from the City of Montreal, worked together to imagine solutions for improving access to water in Montreal’s public spaces.

These discussions provided an opportunity to reflect on more inclusive public spaces that better respond to the needs of the diverse people who use them.
